NDIS
NDIS Physiotherapy Services in Daisy Hill, North Lakes & Eight Mile Plains
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) helps people living with a significant and permanent disability to get the support they need. You can use your NDIS money for physiotherapy services, if they’re listed in your NDIS Plan.
What to expect from your first appointment
Your first appointment is a time when we get to know each other.
It’s important that you feel comfortable with us. You’re living with a significant or permanent disability – you wouldn’t have an NDIS Plan otherwise. That means you’re going to be engaging in ongoing physiotherapy over months or years and you need to like and trust your healthcare team.
You can expect us to:
- Read your NDIS Plan
- Ask you about your disability, your lifestyle and your goals
- Assess your condition
- Examine your muscle strength, joint mobility, balance and endurance
- Discuss any mobility equipment we think might help you move around more easily
- Ask for your permission to contact your doctors or other allied health professionals in your treatment team (we like to work collaboratively so you benefit from coordinated care)
- Form a service agreement with you (recommended by the NDIS).
Our NDIS Services
- Does your NDIS Plan include physiotherapy? (It may be there as a core support or under capacity building.)
- Do you self-manage your funds? (That means you can choose any provider you like – including us!)

About NDIS Physiotherapy
Benefits of Physiotherapy for NDIS Participants
Physiotherapy can have a very positive impact on your life. The right physiotherapy program can help you achieve your goals, such as improved wellbeing, more community participation, or greater independence.
Physiotherapists work with many people with different kinds of disabilities that affect movement and control, including conditions that are life-long or life-limiting. As skilled allied health professionals, we’re trained to build on your strengths and help you function more easily in your environment.
You may benefit from physio if you live with conditions like cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, cystic fibrosis, intellectual disability, spinal cord injury, or acquired brain injury.
Physiotherapy may help to increase your physical activity levels, build your strength, prevent injury, and improve your social connections. Maybe you’d like to join a sports team or a fitness class but need support to improve your fitness and confidence first.
Accessing Physiotherapy Services With Your NDIS Plan
The NDIS is designed to give you choice and control over the services you receive. That includes giving you the opportunity to choose who provides those services.
Exactly how much choice and control you get depends on how you choose to manage your funds. If a plan manager or the NDIA manage your money for you, then you must use NDIS-approved providers.
However, if you’re self-managing your NDIS funds, you can use any provider you choose, including The Brisbane Spine Clinic. Self-management puts you in the driving seat, giving you control, independence and flexibility in arranging and paying for your NDIS supports.
It’s wise to enter into a Service Agreement with any provider you choose to work with. This outlines the services you’ll receive and their cost. It also explains how you or the service provider can end the agreement if you wish. It’s best to have all this clear from the beginning as it helps you to understand what should be happening and how you can change things if you need to.
Why Choose The Brisbane Spine Clinic?
You’ll notice The Brisbane Spine Clinic difference from the beginning.
We are skilled physiotherapists who will treat your physical needs with dedication and commitment. But, more than that, we’ll treat you with respect, communicating clearly with you to help you understand your body and gain peace of mind.
We’re fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, Korean and Cantonese, which is of great benefit to patients from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
We believe in supporting and providing care for you over the years, building a trusting, ongoing relationship. We use a problem-solving, results-based, goal-focused clinical approach to achieve measurable improvements. We are not here just to provide a quick temporary patch-up. We are here, every time, anytime.
We begin by assessing you, examining your muscle strength, joint mobility, endurance and balance. Depending on your disability and your goals, we then develop a tailored exercise program that helps you make progress.
It’s encouraging to see the improvements you’re making. That’s why we measure your strength and mobility at the beginning and measure again from time to time.
We can also prescribe mobility equipment to help you move around more easily. You may be able to pay for these through your NDIS Plan if it includes funding for assistive technology or home modifications.
As physiotherapists, we’re used to working in multidisciplinary teams to help people living with complex conditions. With your permission, we’ll collaborate with your wider treatment team, including your doctors or other allied health professionals. You’ll benefit from this coordinated care.
Starting Your NDIS-Funded Physiotherapy Program
If you have a current NDIS Plan that includes physiotherapy services and have chosen to self-manage your funds, then please make an appointment. We’re looking forward to meeting you, learning about your goals, and designing a therapy program to help you achieve them.
